Paperwork: notes and equipment by text

Job notes are the paperwork techs put off. With Holler they take one text: NOTE, the customer’s name, and what happened, in whatever words come out. Plain speech works too: telling Holler what you did drafts the same note as typing NOTE.

NOTE Diaz swapped the run cap, system cooling fine, told her about the surge pad
Replaced the run capacitor; system is cooling properly. Recommended a surge protector. Reply APPROVE to file it to the Diaz job, or send changes.

Nothing files without you

  • Holler drafts the note clean and professional, adding nothing you didn’t say: no invented prices, parts, or measurements.
  • The note lands in your field-service system only after the tech replies APPROVE. Send changes instead and Holler redrafts.
  • The customer name up front targets the right job; without one, it attaches to your most recent job.
  • Housecall Pro takes the note straight into the job today, and owners see it on the job like any other note. Jobber, Workiz, and FieldPulse don’t have a notes write path yet, and ServiceTitan doesn’t either until that connection is fully credentialed: on those, Holler saves the approved note instead of claiming it landed somewhere it didn’t. Your office still sees it, flagged “needs your eyes,” in the dashboard’s Activity tab under the Notes & equipment filter.

Equipment records too

Text EQUIP, the customer’s name, and the make, model, serial, and install date, or photograph the equipment plate first (Diagnose remembers the read for 6 hours) and just reply EQUIP with nothing else. Holler builds a labeled equipment record and files it through the same APPROVE gate as a job note.

Goodman GSX140361: plate reads 3 ton, R-410A. Run capacitor is typically 45/5 uF 440V on this family; confirm against the plate. Want the manual library link? Reply EQUIP to put this on the job record.
EQUIP Diaz
EQUIPMENT RECORD (via Holler) Make: Goodman Model: GSX140361 Reply APPROVE to file it to the Diaz job, or send changes.

It lands as a job note labeled EQUIPMENT RECORD, not a separate equipment field: Housecall Pro’s public API doesn’t expose a Property Profile write yet. The moment it does, Holler targets that instead.

Pairs with the end-of-day notes wrap: Holler tells you which of today’s jobs still need notes, and you knock them out from the truck.
